Spot It game night with Tryazon

I had not heard of this game Spot It! Apparently my kids played it over Christmas break with their two younger cousins. So they were excited when we won this party. We got two sets of Spot It! The original one and then a fishing one . The object of the game is to find the one matching image on a card. There are a few different ways to play it, you can put two cards out at the same time and find the match and winner gets both cards, you can put one card out and then each player has the same number of cards and when you see a match you put it on as the top card and play until you run out of cards, or you can set it up kind of like a memory game and just try to find the matches with nine cards out there. We really enjoyed the game and were surprised at how it was perfect for any age. We also went online and found that there are so many different versions of the game. My kids are interested in the ones that are for their favorite NFL teams. These are in such a nice case, and it's a fast and easy game I know we will use them often when we are traveling. Thank you Tryazon for allowing us the opportunity to try out these games!

Wavelength Board game night from Tryazon

Another fun game review from our friends over at Tryazon. Today we have Wavelength and Spots. The main game was Wavelength- it is a "mind reading game" to see just how close you can get to matching with your team. A card may say has a good reputation/has a bad reputation and then the person who reads the card spins the outside wheel to see where points are. When I did this for my video it was pretty close to the left so good reputation- I said not quite Mother Theresa but if it would have been close to the bad side a good clue would be "your least favorite politician" We thought this game was pretty fun.

Spots is a dice game where you try to get all the spots filled on your dog cards. It took a LONG time to figure out how to play this game, we did like it but by the time we actually played we were a little over it since it took us about 45 minutes to figure out how to play. I think we will enjoy it the more we play and it's pretty easy to explain to others.

I had never heard of this company, but the games are different than anything I have ever played and are well made. Thanks again to Tryazon and Asmodee USA for picking us to host!

New Games from the Creators of Exploding Kittens and MAN do I have some opinions!

SO first off- thank you to Tryazon and Exploding Kittens for letting us try out a few of your newer games. The first Game we got to try was called Really Loud Librarians- It's just a funny title because we know that no librarian is really loud! I work in a school and I do want to take this into her media center and see about her having some kids play this! It's a word shouting game- trying to think of words that start with certain letters in certain categories and work your way around the track to rack up points for your team.

The second game was called Throw Throw Burrito- these game reminds me a bit of playing spoons as a kid, except with this game you throw squishy burritos at people we played this as a family. Four kids, each two years apart, very competitive, every time we played it someone left in tears. I am not sure what it is about a flying burrito hitting you in the face, but some in my family did not appreciate it. I think this is more of a friends game than a family game! LOL

Happy Salmon was our very favorite. Each player starts with 12 cards they say one of four things, Happy Salmon is one card where you slap another players arm like a salmon, fish bump (fist bump) switch it up (switching places with another player this can turn into quite the debacle! LOL and high five. The point of the game is to match with another player do the action and then go to the next card. First player out of cards win. This game is hilarious to play and to watch! We had so much fun with it and it's a super fast game, taking just around 90 seconds from start to finish. I want to take this game to school and play it with my students but I am not sure the other teachers down the hall would appreciate it!

If you are looking for an inexpensive, cute, fun gift for the child in your life, then P. Lushes has a deal for you. These guys game in a suitcase box, it was so cute and each had their little home. But we handed them out to a lot of our friends. As soon as we opened the box the kids pounced and grabbed one and they were all so happy to get one. These little guys aren't super large (in fact I thought they were the perfect size, they were also so very soft. The neat thing is the amount of fur on these guys varies. Some were super thick some where smooth some had patterns. I was just surprised by all the different details. I had never thought I would need a P. Lushes Pet but at the cost of $10-12 each I think they will be my go to gift for years to come. Thank you Tryazon and Spin Master for allowing us to have this party and share such cute pets with our friends!

OPGames Tryazon Party #telestrations #BlankSlate

Such fun games! So happy to get to have this party. We have been fans of Blank Slate for the last five years. As a substitute teacher I have brought it into many middle school and high school classrooms over the years. The students have all heard of the game because Bobby Bones apparently talks about it every so often on his radio show. A quick explanation of how you play the game- there is a word like cherry _____ then you have to write down what you think of when you need to add a word to cherry- I said pie, two people said blossom and someone said cake although I had never heard of that before! Just an example the blank can be the first part or the last part. If you match with one person you get 3 points if more than 2 of you match you get 1 point and first to 30 wins.  My family has also loved playing it with both sides of the family. The funniest thing we have had happen with this game is the time we were playing it with all of our family and my dad and my brother matched a compound word that wasn't right, for the life of me I wish I could remember what it was but it was something they had pronounced wrong- apparently together all of their lives!
Telestrations was such a fun game, the problem in our family with kids so close in age is the amount of fighting that usually goes along with board games. Not this one, there was so much laughter, tears from laughing so hard. This game was a blast and some of the drawings and guesses were so off that we just about rolled on the floor. Telestrations is  like telephone and Pictionary combined. Everyone draws a card and then a dice is rolled to determine what number you use. After that that person will draw on the first page of their book their best drawing of that word, next person looks at only the picture and then guesses with words what the picture is then from those words the next person draws another picture until you get your booklet back. When the big reveal goes does there is always so much laughing.  Big fans of both of these games if you are needing Christmas presents for anyone I would highly suggest these! Thanks OPgames and Tryazon for letting us host this party.

From the Makers of Exploding Kitten comes Hand-to-Hand Wombat

The Makers of Exploding Kittens have been busy making a bunch of new games and we got to try it out these last few weeks with our family. Each game comes with a little comic book that explains that wombats poop in squares- news you never even knew you needed to know and then those squares they use to build towers. So somewhere in there someone said let's make a game of building wombat poo and market it to the masses! It's a fun game where everyone tries to help build three towers, you think! Everyone gets a card at the beginning of the game telling them what kind of wombat they are- some just get to build towers, some have special rules about these towers, and some try to destroy the towers. At the end of each round everyone votes on who they think the evil wombat is and that person is removed from the game. We had a lot of fun with it, but have decided that our kids are too competitive to play to together- but they all want a chance to play it with their friends. We know this will be used at many game nights in the future.
Thanks again to Tryazon for the opportunity to try this game.

Spin Master Summer game night with Tryazon

Spin Master has some really fun games! We had so much fun getting to host a party with several of our friends and family and many people walked away with some good Christmas gift ideas.

Soggy Doggy is a fun game with a dog that is in the bath tub, the goal is to get your game piece around the board without making the doggy shake. My kids ages 16, 14, 12, and 9 thought it was fun but we would all agree it would be the perfect game for kids ages 5-9. It uses real water too which is a fun element to the game.

Beat the Parents is one our family has been playing for years. I am pretty sure our kids always win, I can not remember a time when we beat our kids. I personally think the game is rigged! LOL

Hedbanz is also a game that we have played in our house for years. I like the concept of this game but I do wish there was an expansion pack with different kinds of cards. It's a fun game and I do like the different varieties of headbands they offer.

Less is More- This is a fun game, the object of the game is to be the person to get one person to guess a word using the least amount of letters. I like this game and it's a bit like another game we love from Spin Masters. It was a little hard for our nine year old but for everyone else we had play it was really fun.

Sink N' Sand- this was our very favorite game- my kids played it on a three day weekend for HOURS! I was a bit worried about the kinetic sand and that being a mess, but it really wasn't a big deal. The object of this game is to not fall through the sand. To start the game sand is pressed into a square box and then it's flipped over sticks of different colors. Four people can play and a stick is removed after every dice role. The sand slowly starts to fall and the last plastic figure standing wins! Again such a blast.

Escape your House- I am not going to lie- we have had a busy few weeks I spent about 20 minutes trying to figure out this game but it was too complicated. I know my kids were super excited about the concept of the game but it just took a long time to figure out. We will try it when we have more time.

Thank you Tryazon and Spin Master for this amazingly fun party. Plenty of fun games for you and your family to choose from for Christmas gifts!
