When I found out that Kroger wanted to send me a #FreeSample so I could make a pie with some of their product ingredients I was thrilled! I love to bake but often have a hard time doing it because I just don't like picking out my own recipes. This was a fun and super easy recipe- although if I make it again I would switch step 2 to step three so I would make the topping while the pie was baking for the first 15 minutes. I was a bit surprised though. Kroger wanted me to make things using their brand products but when I went to the store their brands were not on sale but the brand name items were and then that made the brand name ones cheaper. I was jus surprised that there was that much of a difference. Even the coupon didn't make the price cheaper. I guess I just expected their brand to be lower than the national brands even when they were on sale. I can't wait to eat this pie for dinner!
