Borax??
Ok this is a product I have actually never heard of until I got to try it. I was amazed at what the side of the box said this stuff could do. It is used mainly for an additive to your laundry soap you just pour it in with your normal stuff and it makes it work harder. I thought it worked pretty good my newest stain is new baby poop stains and those are always so fun to get out of laundry but they all did come out so I guess it really worked. As for the other stuff you can use it to clean almost anything the thing I want to try yet is using it to clean my bathroom floors I need something! can't wait till we get new tile on the bathroom floors!

I make my own laundry detergent with it.
ReplyDelete1 (4pound 12 oz. box) of Borax
1 (3pound) container of OxyClean
2 (14.1 oz) bars of Zote Soap (I use a cheese grater and grate it really fine.)
2 (2pound) boxes of Arm and Hammer Baking Soda
1-2 (55oz.) Bottle of Purex Crystals Fabric Softener.
I mix all of these ingredients together and use the Purex cap as a measure for each load of laundry. This makes a lot and lasts me about two months. It works great in my high efficiency washer with one cap full of detergent.
Patty I saw this recipe on facebook last week from someone's pintrest I am very interested in making this sometime. I enjoy the purex Crystals as well and will be having a giveaway for them sometime this week as well!
DeleteI've tried posting twice from my phone, but with no luck so I guess I'll try from my computer today. In college, we used borax to fire proof the floats for homecoming. I can't remember the exact mixture, but it was water, borax, and some type of mild acid together and then sprayed the float with it. It was pretty cool to see that the next morning after everything dried, the tissue paper would not catch on fire no matter how hard we tried. I don't know that I would make a batch of it and then spray down the entire house or anything, but it might be fun to experiment with.
ReplyDeletehaha that is great maybe try it on a dog house or something first sure wouldn't want a house to burn down! but this is the first time I have heard of this use for it! thanks for sharing!
DeleteI use it mixed with washing soda and a grated bar of soap in homemade laundry soap.
